transducer question
I have a transom-mounted transducer for my depth finder. Whenever the boat is on plane the depth readings go crazy. Giving depths of 500-1000 ft. I know that these depths arent likely in the lighthouse area. I am pretty sure that the interference is caused by water passing over the welds on the bottom of the boat. I have tried to adjust the positioning of the transducer but it doesnt work. Any ideas of how to get around this problem?

you may want to think about epoxying it in a clean place inside your bilge, you may loose a little of your sensitivity but it wont quit reading... i positioned my transducer in my castnet boat in this fashion eliminating the snag situation and still had plenty of sensitivity to locate those big ol blacks of mullet. just a thought.
