Keaton Beach Catchin'

Post by ROTORHEAD »

Put in yesterday at 3:50 pm and turned to the south off the last marker. Stopped in 6.5 ft of water(64.9 degrees) and through a jig on the bottom. It was an almost immediate hook-up with a keeper trout. One hour later me and my partner had 13 trout in the box(10 specks and 3 sand). Fished for another hour just to enjoy caching and releasing. Caught 29 specks and had an awesome two hours on the big pond. The fish are frying right now and I'm about to add the cheese to the grits. Life is good.

Birddog, the water was quite murky but I think that may have worked to my advantage. Last weekend, once I got to clear water the bite turned off.

Rotorhead!!!Awsome trip. I had the same luck in Keaton on Sunday. I think I passed you leaving Leesburg. I had to burn a couple tracts up there yesterday and passed a boat headed south.

I may head back to Keaton next week if anyone is interested its hard to find someone to fish with during the week. If I can get ahead with work I am gone fishin'.
