yak fishing wed. MARCH 8 th
I have the day off work and would like to do some yak fishing. would any one like to join in ? weather looks good 10% chance or rain winds 5-10 inshore or on a river. lets get out and hook up with some fish

Wish I could, buddy! Things are pretty busy right now at the Inn, however, I did manage to sneak out of here last Tuesday and do a little yak fishin. Didn't do any good, although I could see reds all around me. Just couldn't get any response. What a great time, though. I will definately be calling soon to make a purchase from you, but part of the deal must include a guided fishing trip! Have a great weekend, talk to you soon.

sorry ya'll my report was so late. work is picking up at the canoe rental with the warmer temps and manatees back in the river.
wen. march 8 th.
fish'n buddy Danny and I met at the canoe rental at 8:00 am. loaded the van and trailer for our day of yak fishing at Aucilla. stopped at Jerry's for some live shrimp

we get to Aucilla at 9:00 and realize the wind is already blow'n harder than the forcast predicted.

change of plans we'll have to stay in the creeks. so off we go !
paddled thru to sulfer creekand started to drift and Danny hooks up with a small trout.

10 min. later I hook up with small red.

we drift a little longer no bites.
we decide to go over to the Pin hook. I haven't fished up there yet . we get to Pin hook and settled down on a calm corner of a saw grass bend to take a break and drownd a shrimp and i spot smoke east of us . It look like it's getting big and not sure with this wind if it would stay contained ?
Danny asks "you thing I'll need this ?"

well Danny and I figure we better swing around the coast and check this out. so with out another bite we take off. we break the mouth of the pin hook and I decide to troll some with my gold spoon.
shortly after I hook a oyster or sharp rock and lose the spoon.

by now the fire looks like it's burnt out and just smoldering. so we drift some more trough Sulfer creek not a bite.

Danny want to be home before dark so we head back to the ramp.

man I'll tell ya thhis is a beautyful river!

also saw a Bald Eagle but couldn't get close enough for a good shot.
tally : 2 short s , lots of sun and wind , and a great time fishing with friends. $ priceless!
