Late Keaton beach report (past weekend)

Post by slayer »

First let me say.....GET DOWN THERE NOW!!!!!!!

Spent Friday and part of Saturday at Keaton beach and had a blast!!!!!! boated between 70 & 80 trout on Friday and probably around 50 on Saturday(only fished till 12:30).......all fish were caught on artificials....used several differnt types....salt water assasin(jigs), kinami style soft jerk baits.....and the best bait we found was the Berkley "gulp" shrimp(brown in color)......

most baits were fished under a Cajun Thunder cork system...

Friday had a limit of 18 to 22 inch trout by 8:45am.....

Saturday it took longer, probably because of the ignorant people that feel that they must use your boat as a waypoint!!!!!! But we had our limit by 10am with all being between 18 & 22 inches...

Stayed on the "dogshead" both days,,,,we fished alot shallower than most were, at times we were only a couple hundred yards off of sponge point....our best depth was 2.5 to 3 feet deep.....and our biggest fish came off of areas that had scattered sand spots mixed in with the grass......all in all....a great trip to the flats!!!!!!
