Carrabelle, Fishin' and Jivin'

Post by qoutrage »

Short and sweet- Freddy and I fished about 4 hours yesterday without a bite..Nice broken to overcast sky, water temp 66*, depths to 65' in 4 spots..Nothing. :(
Went again today, figuring we had to do better. Took Wat'ser name with us.
Wind was up to about 10-12 kts at noon, but dropped off to about 5 or so after bout an hour.. Water was pretty clear, with temp same at 66*. Sky was mostly clear. We caught fish on and off most of the afternoon, but no keepers, just short gags and reds, and a couple of grunts.
The highlight of the day was Freddy's double- Both short, of course.
Y'all probably tired of seeing him, but here's another one..

Wat'ser name showin off in a funny looking hat and glasses. :-D

As you can see, we fed em L/Y's and squid. They went for the squid best.
Was a fun day. :-)

I don't know about that q, if you're baitin' her pole you may be a deckhand.

Looks like ya'll had a nice time. We've had days offshore where all we could catch were shorty's. When the shorty's show up I like to switch to light tackle. Nothing like a 18" grouper on a Abu 5500C. :o
