Slot size?

Post by yankee »

I have a question about the size of keeper trout down there, do the reg. want you to keep the bigger fish? Up here we throw the prime (18-26 inches) spawning size fish back and eat the smaller ones. What is the prime spawning size trout?

PS. I really enjoy the fishing report, you guys give altought, it gets pretty hard reading them when you're looking out the window and seeing 3ft. of snow and -20 on the thermometer.well 3 more years and I'll be down there fishing.

We can keep speckled trout from 15" to 20", five per person and one can be over 20"....We can not keep any trout for the month of February, which is not the spawning season....I speculate it's a month of fish not removed from the waters :-? ....They have roe in them at 15"...bigger the fish, the more eggs.

Welcome aboard....If I were you, I would of move now

I don't know JT, I'm the kind of guy who waits for a guy to use the porta john, at the boat ramp and I'll go over and look in his boat to see the baits he using. That's what neat about fishing I always learn something, be at the ramp or on the water.
Good luck to all fishing the tourney this weekend

I always tie on the least obvious before I leave the water. Then I leave the ramp with it the next trip.
