Arrived at Keaton with Tincan around 0800 on Friday....We expected alot of wind and no water...we were met with a little water and a little wind...We went about checking spots that produced fish for us two weeks ago.....Water appeared to be stained in the channel so we decided to check spots south.....Chatted with Birddog and Reel Slow on the VHF we chatted back and forth most of the day trying to figure out where the fish were.....We went here and there south....couldn't find our fish til around lunch....Fish were found in 3 to 7 foot of water, the key seemed to be stained, really dirty water.

We were in my boat, which handles rough water very well for a flats boat, but it doesn't like to stop in it...this problem caused tincans pliers to float around in my boat a few times...once you crossed into 6 foot water with a 15-20 knot wind and stopped, it made the waves kinda wash over the bow and clean the floor  :o

We went north to check a few spots....caught some fish...I managed to release one at the boat over 20"...Tincan landed a 23" trout....caught a few in the 18" to 19" range....

Ended the day wet and cold....Probably caught and released around 40 trout 50/50 short to keeper ratio

Caught them on cajun thunder and straight jigs

We caught 40 on Friday and only 10 or so on Saturday, go figure :smt011

I had a blast partner, can't wait to do it again in my boat

  By the looks of TC's towel in that first pic I'd say there was more than "a little wind" :-D

We just knew you guys would get on 'em Saturday. We saw a boat with 2 guys that looked just like ya'll. They were putting nice fish in the boat. I told Butch we had to pickup the pace.

We thought we would of done better as well.....Hind sight being 20/20 and seeing what we did...we should of found some more stable water as in temperature....I don't think the fish on the flats liked the sudden drop in water temp.....for fishing artificial anyways...we fished by Pat all morning both days.....he had a nice sack yesterday, but he also had a bucket floating beside the boat as well....

Forgot to mention the quote of the day from yesterday (cleaned up version)...."I would rather fish than make love.....I'm ready to make love." :o ....I promptly said, "I have a headache." :o

Had a good time Chalk. Wish Saturday would be like Friday myself.

Can't wait to do it again. I'm starting to get that St. Joe Bay itch. Maybe we can set up a trip pretty quick.
