Wakulla River 3/23

Post by Charles »

Yesterday, put in at Lower Bridge and went up. Fished the shallow, grassy area above the bridge for about an hour and a half in the morning and again in the afternoon for about three hours.

Caught one little bass, not much bigger than the black/yellow Snagless Sally he hit. Didn't do anything on a red/white Bass Oreno.

The river is very clear. Been seeing some really nice bass, not on beds, but not hitting anything either, in shallow water between the eel grass and the river bank.

The last couple of times ive been there ive had a hard time catchin fish. I can see some swimming and the few that i do catch are small. In the past i used to do pretty well on flukes and other plastics!

GranPa used to say on a clear river like the Wakulla, fish on a cloudy day and a long way from the boat.
