Got to the LH around 7 and headed east. Fished the falling tide that morning and was in about 3-4 feet when the bite started. Caught 9 trout. Only one keeper at 19'' and the rest were right at or just under 15''. They hit mainly on a hard jerk bait, mirror lure. Also on straight jig. I couldn't get anything on live shrimp or even using a CT,..... in any combination. ??? They were very picky. Move to fish the rocks, nothing. moved in to fish the creeks, nothing. Wind picked up and found it tough standing in a 14 foot jon boat! Had to head to the hill.
Oh, almost forgot, saw two Cobia. Each time I threw everything I had tied on and nothing worked. Maybe next time.
I would like to know what you all think is the best Cobia bait. ???
Never caught one, never really target them. I've heard about any live bait; especially a nice pinfish. Also have heard a good size bucktail jig works well. I'm sure the experts will chime in.
