Anky 4-1

Post by Dubble Trubble »

Wife and I put in around 11 am saturday, went out of mouth waiting for a buddys boat. Wife decided to throw in a shrimp under a C/T. BAM, about a 3 foot cobia hit her little baitcaster hard. She fought it for a couple of minutes, then handed it to me... I worked the thing, but it would not give up, every time we got it to the boat, it would take out the line... I actually could not believe the line held, but after about 5 mins, he got off, not cutting line, but actually spit out hook......

Ok, adrenalin pumping, we headed over to rock island area, nothing but shorts for about 2 hours. Headed back to where the yellow excavator was on shore (if you were there, you saw it), BAM, caught aout 30 fish with 7 being keepers. drifted a small area back and forth about 10 times. Finally headed in around 5 pm. Good day on the water. One other thing. When I was cleaning the fish, I noticed one looked a little funny. Upon closer inspection, it was a sand trout ( or white trout, whatever is slang for them).

So 6 specks, 1 sand trout. One speck went 20"

Now, 2 weeks ago, I had to say my wife caught the biggest and the most fish, this time I caught all the keepers. She was using live shrimp under the C/T and only got shorts. I pulled the keepers in on DOA under C/T and white fluke worked on the bottom.

Sweet revenge (PS, Don't tell her about this post...)

Hooked :-D

I'm beginning to think the fish love the sounds from
that heavy equipment! :-D They are thick
down there this year so far for sure! Glad you
got into them.

Hookedup, I think we saw you right before you headed in. I was in a black Kenner with my brother and little nephew. Nice job - you guys were pulling them in one after another when we saw you. We stayed deep too long but still had a great day.
