First trip down there in about a month and things have warmed up significantly. In at the LH at about 10:00 and off around 3:30. Initially wanted to try the mouth of the East River and check the the holes between the bars during the low. Messed around in there until about 12:30 with no takers. Talked to a couple of kayakers who were also coming up short. Headed to the east flats and after some searching found trout around 1:00 on a strong rising tide with increasing winds out of the south. They only seemed to be biting around the 73 degree 5' mark...drifted at 6' and at 4' and the bite turned off. Also found an area further east that was warmer with 6' and 74 degree and still no fish. Ended up with about a dozen trout, mostly shorts but several keepers. Took home a 19" and a 16" for dinner and released the others. All caught on a CT with a clear / sparkle redhead jig. Drifted up into a cove and tossed a spoon for some reds and only managed to spook a school as the boat blew into the bank. I'm determined to make this new spoon work. Oh well... Decided the wind had been enough and bounced my way back to the hill. Sure is nice to be back out there in the warm weather catching fish.
