Tackle Strategy:

Buy a bunch of whatever's on sale. Ya' never know when it's gonna' work.
Buy a bunch of whatever's working right now. So as you change lures/tactics you'll still have a bunch of what was working to fall back on.
Buy a bunch of what's working over there. Ya' never know when you might go fishing there.
Never buy only one of anything. If you do, that will be the one that works. You'll lose it. You won't be able to find another one.

Thanks Nathan, I doubt I'll be able to get away for some fishing but would love to otherwise. I've got some good memories from fishing over there when visiting family.

So what about the flutter hooks? Or squeeze on leads. Anybody use them with soft plastics? I though about getting some, the only reason I am considering trying new stuff is I used three of the plastics that came in that riptide sample bag from the social and caught fish on all of them. I normally wouldn't have fished with them, so it got me thinking maybe I should expand my tackle selection a little.

I hear ya charles, good strategy buy everything you can!
And it's so true about only having one lure thats working and you get a breakoff.

Having two lures can also come in handy when fishing with a partner who doesn't have that kind of lure, if thats the only thing they're biting you can set your price for the other one. :P

No way it'll out catch a "walk the dog" type topwater lure.

I've had this happen, but I'll loan the lure rather than sell, and if he loses it I'll just write it off.

But the really funny thing about this is when you're still catching fish and he's still not. :-D

Charles, I loan em out too, after a little heckling to see how high I can get em.

When the boat catches more fish it only makes the capt look better. Plus you can always say "Ya know, those are really my fish cause your using my plug".

If you had thrown that trout colored skitterwalk today, I would have spanked your butt. Never caught a fish on one today. Didn't catch them on a chug bug, either. :o
What was I supposed to do today?
