? about Shell Island Fish Camp
I plan on renting a boat from the Shell Island Fish Camp the last week of this month. Are there any hotspots you all could tell me about. The lady said we would have to stay in the flats, what are the flats and where do they end. I am not as stupid as that last questions sounds, just wanting to make sure.
any help greatly appreciated

When you get the boat you will want to run down the river past the lighthouse and turn east just after the #6 red bouy. Run east for 2 miles and start fishing with a grub under a cajunthunder. Try to find some sandy areas and fish around these.
You should see a couple of poles sticking up to the south of that area. This is what is commonly reffered to as the stakeline. This is where I consider the flats to begin/end. But you can still run that boat anywhere you want, just have to watch the fuel.

Let me clarify something here, when Tom says run, he means on the OUTSIDE of the stakeline
If you RUN on the inside of the stakeline, you will "in all likelyhood" loose the foot of the outboard to a rock
It is great fishin over there, but you will be carefull or pay for not being so
