DOES SIZE REALLY MATTER?

Post by gdaddy »

 I am reffering to surf rods. I am looking to purchase a couple and am amazed at the different sizes out there. I have got a jigmaster and a squidder and am looking to mount them for surf.
1) What lenght should I get 8' 9' 10' 15'? I would like to keep it under 10' so when I come home to dixie and go catfishin I don't look like a dork?
2) What rods hold up best for the money? $30- $70 range would suit me? But if I can twice the rod for a little more that would be fine too.
3) Where is the best place to get them? Online, Walmarts, or just drive down and borrow some of yall's. :P
3 more weeks and yall be done teaching me salwater 101
thanks

The length of the rod is going to be the main factor, in how far you can cast.
So, how far you need to cast, is the first question.
However, from what I have seen of Gulf beach fishing, a 10ft rod would be fine.
There are also piers and bridge areas, not just beaches.

How much to pay and where to buy from, I can,t help you with.
I borrow mine, when I am there. :D

You,re going to have a great time.
