Lake Jackson 4/27/06

Post by fishful_thinkin »

Castaway and Myself launched the boat at crowder boat ramp today about 5:30. The wind was blowing hard and the trolling motor was having to work to stay with it. I managed to boat a nice 12 inch on trick worm and Castaway got one later in the afternoon on a spinner bait. About 30 mins to sunset i hung into a pretty good sized fish on a white spinner bait. Got her in and she turned out to be about 7LBS! I have fished Jackson and that is by far the biggest that I have ever pulled outta there. well after kicking our self for not having a camera we then realized that we had camera phones  we took pictures of her and then released her to fight again tomorrow. I will post the pics if I can figure this thing out. Until next time.... :smt006

Man that was really nice for me to see. I have'nt been to Lake Jackson since I moved to Valdosta from Tallahassee. The last time I was there I drove on the lake bed after the sinkhole drained the lake. I might have to make a trip back down.

I grew up fishing Lake Jackson for bass with fresh caught shinners right out of the lake. Largest I saw from those by gone days was a 12 pounder caught by my class mate...in my boat.. from hi school days. We were at Miller Landing....it was July....and hotter than a firecracker.... Middle of the afternoon.
Never have forgot that day.
Good report. :D
