A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
I use a loop knot on any inshore hard bait or jig anymore. Can't remember what it is called, but it is easy to tie and quick. I also use around 3 feet of 15-20# fluoro leader most of the time. That is when using braid or 10# mono though.
"Spanish and blues, Spanish and blues......" ahhhhh......I love that song
I use a modified trilene knot, 16-20" of 12-15 lb. floro leader w/ a triple surgeons knot...And have always heard not to use a loop knot on topwater....something to do with the action of the lure when there's a tight connection w/ the main line against a free moving knot on the main line....don't know if any of it's true.....but that's what they say....
I'm not sure what it's called but you loop the line through the eye an wrap it around like you were going to do a uniknot but then put the tag end through the top loop and pull UP. For topwater I usally put a coulple half-hitchs on the end.
Hope this helps.
If there is no fishing or dogs in Heaven, I want to go where there is!
