Me and my partner got off work at 6 this mornin and decided to hit the water. Put in at Shell Point and ran around Live Oak Island. Started fishing top dogs in shallow water and picked up 1 at 18". Changed over to bubble gum flukes and started cathin a few more in 2.5-3 foot of water. Ended our trip with our limit of good solid fish from 17.5-21 inches. Off the water at 11:00am,overall great mornin. The water temp was up to 75 and the wind was out of the south west around maybe 5mph. The water is super clear around that area right now. The trout were biting best went the retrieve was paused. By the way seen several BIG cobias cruisin around.
Yes Sir, the Shell Point area has been on fire, I saw three cobias Saturday and had two turn around on my jerk bait. they never did hit it. I guess wrong bait wrong time......And like you said, That water is super clear clear. it reminds me of the Gray Mare rock area back when the Scallops were around. I hope this is a sign for scallops this year.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.
