Bait Shoppe?

Post by gdaddy »

You guys have been very helpful in my quest of saltwater fishing knowledge and for that I am thankful. But, alot of the stuff yall have recommended for tackle and bait I can not get up here(Bama). I am going to Bald Point in 2 weeks and need to get some of the supplies you told me about. Where, within driving distance, is the best bait and tackle shop to get them in that area?
I am talking about the Cajun Thunder, D O A terrize, and lures you have suggested.
P.S. The shrimp you use, are they live, frozen, fresh dead, or what? If they are live; what is the best way to keep them? What is the best place to purchase?

Less than 2 WEEKS TILL I GRADUATE SALTWATER 101 :D
(or fail)

You can get the Cajun Thunders at most any place that sells tackle. The BP station just north of the bridge at Ocklocnee has a very good selection of tackle. I don't know if they carry the DOA's. If not, stop at Wal-Mart on your way through Tallahassee. Circle J's bait and tackle, just south of Crawfordville should have everything you need.

Good Luck!

You can buy live bait at the BP also.

gdaddy, sorry to drop the news on you, but Saltwater 101 is just grade school. The post graduate study will last the rest of your life. So you'll never really get out of school.

Try putting the live shrimp (no shrimp water) in an unsealed plastic baggie on top of the ice in a cooler. My girlfriend intends to make me bring a separate “scrimp coolerâ€

Are you taking a boat and do you have a gps? If so I can give you some numbers to fish. Other than shrimp it depends on how far west you plan to fish as to what type bait or artificial to use.
