Bottoms 5/24

Post by fish on!! »

Launched at bottoms at about 515 for a quick afterwork trip. It was a pretty afternoon once the storms moved out. This trip turned out to be more of a learning experience. Turns out you actually need water in order to fish. Go figure. And water was hard to find this evening. With a negative low tide on already shallow flats, fishing was tough. We did manage a couple of short trout, one nice blue, and a hard fighting 2 foot shark. Nothing worth taking pics but I should have taken some pics of the dry flats. It was a sight.

Then it was time for a
and everything was all better.

Some times the learning experience trips are the best trips. I'd bet you saw stuff out there you didn't know existed.

you are correct. For one, FYI, I found a rock with my motor on the left side of the ramp at bottoms. no worries.

Bottoms is a really fine area but it definitely requires some exploring. A good thing is most groundings involve sand; a bad thing is the ramp can be trouble during a windy low tide.
