Stainless vs Aluminum prop question?

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

:-D Somebody explain to me about props. My boat with a 25hp performs best with a 10.125 pitch aluminum prop. What pitch would you buy for a stainless one? What benifit would I get? :-D

There have been some pretty good discussions previously... here is one of them. Hope this helps.

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

The problem with swapping props on a smaller motor is most boats with smaller motors don't have a tachometer. However, given you're running a 25 horse, I would probably go with a 10 or 10.125 pitch. There shouldn't be a drastic difference in rpm on a 25. The boat will preform better with a stainless. What stainless you run also makes a difference. What boat and what make 25 are you running?
