Finally got out.
Kicked butt.
Early the wind was down so I was able to break out the fly rod, which was my first time actually casting from a boat. I was pleased to find that being three feet off the water makes things a bit easier. After switching to a sinking fly I caught Spanish (24"), Blues, Trout and Ladyfish. :D :D :D Sure is pretty to hold up a fish with a fly set just in the corner of it's mouth.
Just like on TV. :D
The rest of the day was steady with many more of the same species and we (2 of us) kept a big supper of trout. The trout ran big and we released ~8-10 over 20 with the biggest at 24". Also brought home a 4lb Pompano, caught on a spec rig -with a Ladyfish on the other jig.
By 3:00 the wind was howling so we bounced our happy selves home.

Sounds like a great trip - especially those fish caught on a fly

Sir Reel, BTW, my pleasure on the suggestion last weekend. Bad food and/or service, can really dampen a trip. Eerman had his little one and with being worn out from fishing I figured a simple walk up the street for good cheap eats was just the thing.

Lit,
That sounds like a great day. The whole family enjoyed Peppers...thanks. If you ever want any specifics on the boat let me know. That whole conversation kind of got off track.
