Lake Jackson 5/30

Post by Castaway »

Yesterday afternoon two buddies and myself put the boat in at the highway 27 ramp and the water was very low. We had to get out and push the boat 3 or 4 times. The bad thing is that we were in a 14 foot boat with a go devil, but the fish were biting so it didnt matter. Caught most of them on flukes and paddletails, but the bigger fish came on a frog. We fished for about 3 hours, caught a bunch of bass with the biggest going about 4 pounds :D

I have fond memories of that place. Tops was a 12 pounder...bass...caught by my fishing buddy....out of Miller Landing. Those days are gone with the wind. :P

I hope that lake fills back up some day. I've spent many a day and many a night on that lake. Ain't nothin like a nice bass blowing up on a bait at 2 a.m.
What was I supposed to do today?

I was lucky :-? enough to get here about the last time she drained...I've done well on that lake a few times. I bet in its heyday it was something else.

Where is best for the bream? Out of what landing? I tried out of 27 county launch on a windy day 2 weeks back and got the big skunk.
Even a Blind Hog finds an acorn now 'n then...
