I am sure I set some kind of record

Post by dogonenuts »

Fishing with my 10 year old and another kid from his baseball team out of Ecofina on Sunday. Never had fished there before so we missed the AM trout bight. Got bored so we started targeting pins for a quick offshore run in the afternoon. With the boys hanging squid bits over the side I sweetened up a Sabiki rig with some squid and drug it behind while I cast for trout. Saw the Sabiki pole jerking a bit. Pulled it up seeing several fish on under the surface. Pulled it in only to find six hardheads on at one time. Wish I had taken a picture, but was too aggravated. I am sure this was some kind of world record, but I didn't get it documented and lost my chance for fame.

:smt005 That's funny! I've caught 3 or 4 pins at once but never that many hardheadds. I bet they made a mess of your sabiki rig. :-?

I started to just cut the line, but they all came off easily with no finning incidents. The hooks weren't long enough to get in very well.
