SHELL POINT 6-4-06

Post by devans850 »

Me and my partner have decided since we can't get a day off, we will start going fishing when we get off work. This morning we got off at 6am and went. Fished around Goose Bay for trout and reds. Ended up with two keeper reds to 26 1/2" and 7 trout to 25". The reds were blasting the bass assassin mac daddies and the trout were slammin skitter walks. Also caught fish on flukes and spoons. Overall a good mornin, but very tired now back at work . Most of the fish bit between 7am and 10am, after that the bite seemed very slow.

I used to fish like that....work all day...fish all night for stripers....work the next day. By the time I got off the second day....I was dead on my feet. Didn't even want to go fishing. I learned my lesson.
Your report brought back a lot of memories. :-? Good report.

Thought we had a few spanish hit,due to the line being cut off. Didn't see alot of bait around either. I did forget to mention the TARPON are thick around Patty's Island. Ryan said he hooked into one about 120lbs :o on a mullet colored skitter walk, that still has his skitter walk  . He said he saw three or four TARPON total. :-D

Yeah fisherman it does get tough. Work 12 hours and fish 6 more, take a nap and back to it for 12 more. Got to get the time in one way or the other. :smt004
