GOOD FLATS BOAT

Post by FUTCHCAIRO »

YEA DIXIE REB, SHE DOES REAL GOOD ON THE FLATS, CAN FISH 4 PEOPLE WITH NO PROBLEM. TOOK IT OVER TO LAKE IAMONIA THURS. WITH THE TROLLIN MOTOR AND WORKED THE BOAT LANES AND CAUGHT 6 NICE BASS, ONE JUST OVER 7#, THE OTHERS WERE BETWEEN 1 1/2# AND 3#. I WANTED TO FIND OUT IF I COULD LOAD AND UNLOAD HER, NO PROBLEM EITHER WAY. IT IS A GREAT BAY BOAT AND SHE TAKES THE WAVES WITHOUT ANYONE GETTING WET. I HAD SOME LAST WEEK THAT WERE CLOSE TO 3' AND SHE DID FINE. I DO NOT THINK I WILL HAVE ANY TROUBLE OFF SHORE ON A GOOD DAY.

Pa,that is sure a good looking vessel. My Dad had a LoneStar that looked a lot like that ,we use to fish the ICW from Jacksonville to St. Augustine when we lived at Atlantic beach. We even took it to the Keys once on vaction. He had named his "The Joy of Fishin".That was a good boat, safe and dry. There is a good name.

WHO PAINTED

Post by FUTCHCAIRO »

HEY RODBOW, I DID THE PAINT JOB, SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ABOUT A DAY TO SAND, PRIME, AND PAINT, IT TOOK ME ALMOST A WEEK. WHEN YOU GET OLD , IT TAKES LONGER. SHE TURNED OUT REALLY GOOD. WHEN I FINISHED THE BOAT THE TRAILER LOOKED BAD, SO I PAINTED THE TRAILER TOO.

TIN CAN

TIN CAN I WILL BE TAKIN MY GRANDSON FISHIN SOMEWHERE, IT WILL DEPEND ON WHERE THE DEPRESSION GOES. IF WE CAN NOT MAKE THE GULF WE WILL HEAD UP TO EUFALLA OR BLACKSHEAR.
THE PAINTIN IS NOT THAT BAD, THE SANDING AND PREPERATION IS WHAT TAKES SO MUCH TIME.

I was kidding, Pa.

I have a painted trailer under the bass boat that needs attention. It's gonna need a sand blasting job.
What was I supposed to do today?
