Well, I've always wanted to try it and now I can say I did. Me, my wife and youngest son launch about 11:15 pm to fish the full moon. Idled out until I found 3 ft. of water before I got her on plane. What a beautiful sight. You did'nt need a light once you were out there.(though I wasn't foolish enough to run with it off). We started throwing topwater, figuring that was the only way to get them to strike. Wrong again. I threw every plug at my disposal and never got a strike. It was pretty breezy all night. Switched to a CT with a glow grub and caught about 12 trout, 4 of which were very nice. That's abt. all the action we saw but had a wonderful time fulfilling a fishing fantasy that I have had for some time. The view was absolutely breathtaking. I thanked my wife and son for going and thanked God for allowing me to witness what He created. We came in at 0400 and got in bed at 0630. Can't wait 'til I go again.

Went out about 3:30 on Sat am and fishing was a little tough with the wind.....switched from topwater to suspending mirrolure (Catch Jr.)
and stayed busy with trout, ladyfish, blues and a couple of "somethings"
that kept my Catch Jr.s
Easy limit of big trout by 8am with 3 over 20+ having to be returned.
Out Sun am about 3am: AWESOME...everyone should go out on the
special night with moonset just about equals sunrise...hard to fish for
about 30 minutes just watching east and west at the awesome
handiwork of God in nature.
Another easy limit including a 22 and returned 2 more (22 and 23)
and back in rack for a nap at 10 am.
Stayed in HIDEOUT overnight last night awaiting storm surge which
thankfully didn't materialize....still didn't get much sleep.
I agree....everyone should make that night run...really can't explain
the beauty and serenity!

It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
Hey rotorhead
Glad to see you made it out. Bet it was beautiful out there. I'll have to try it soon.
We went diving Sat. Really good vis. We could see the bottom out in 30' to 40' from the boat.
Lots of small grouper but no keepers. Still it was nice to get in the water. Hope this weather hasn't ruined the vis for the summer.
going to try again weekend after next. unfortunately have to work this weekend to support my fishing habit.
