This Stringer would have won any tourment we entered! 6/22
I have a interview set up for Thursday down close to Coco, so I figure I can get in a lately afternoon session with my buddy Ryan Harris on his new Flats boat. I turned him on to fishing a few years ago and now he is a man obsessed...looks like I did something right. Well we are off to Mosquito Lagoon and in the water at 3:30pm. My buddy's brother-in-law is a really well know redfish guide over there. He didn't give us any spots but he did tell us natural color top water lures seem to catch as many fish as thing else...except for fingerling mullet. Right off the bat I catch a fat 22" Red. We release him thinking we would get more. SO ofcourse we didn't get another strike for over an hour. We start to think letting the red go was a mistake, so we pick up and head for another flat. On the way there I see a bunch of bait busting the surface and tell Ryan to head the boat that way. We get there and have the best red day I have ever had. we both catch about 6 reds. All were 22-25" and fat. All were caught on top water. And yes we would have won any tournament we would have entered. My buddy got a red that was exactly 27, and a few minutes later I got one that was 26 and 3/4". Them reds sure do eat good!!!
