Got a late start. Launched at 6:50. I did manage to get to my favorite hole and catch the end of the fall. My second cast found a 28" red. About 15 minutes later I found a 29" red. I stayed in my honey hole as long as there was water, but no more fish. I eased out on the flats and drifted a little. About 20 minutes of drifting and a 29.5" red payed me a visit. About a half hour later a 30" red said hello. I wanted to hang around and fish the top half of the rise but the lightning got too close. It was storming southwest of the river. I managed to get back to the lighthouse and load the boat in a light sprinkle. The first red was caught on a jig and grub. The other 3 were caught on a Skitterwalk. They liked that topwater this morning. :-D

It's always nice to know someone cares about me. When I got in my truck I had a phonemail message. A fellow forum member was concerned that I might be out in the nasty weather. I'm sure the call was purely out of concern, and that fellow forum member would never laugh had I gotten my arse soaked.
What was I supposed to do today?

Yep, me an my paw in law beat old TC to the ramp this morning. We put in at 6:20 and ran east. Stopped in 2 feet of glass calm water and started catching fish immediately. Probably caught 40 or so trout keeping nine from 16-23 inches. Couldn't get the 10th one before we had to beat the rain back in. Fish were caught on flukes and CT. Biggest fish came on a fluke. Couldn't throw the skitterwalk because of the grass. Once the tide stopped, so did the bite. Back on the trailer at 10:50. Nice day but hot, hot, hot.

Its nice to get out early with the weather so hot. Seems the fish are still biting regardless of the hot temps.

Tom seems you've done a lot of fishing lately. :thumbup:You must be on vacation.

Man, TC make sure you take that Advil tonight. I wouldn't want you to get sore after all that. Congrats to you too Tom for some fishies and actually getting a vacation. BD, I need some fence taken down and some fence put up if you get an itch.

Good job TC,now go find some trout.
BD,I need about 2000' of fence run. I figure you could do about 1' an hour. What do you say?
Let's see 2000' @$100/HR=$200,000.00. Am I right?
