spinnerbait retrieve?

Post by pcbayou »

Hey spinnerbait guys, how do you retrieve? Fast? Slow? Bounce on the bottom like a regular jig? All of the above?

I bought a Redfish Magic by Strike King while I was visiting in Texas. It's 1/4 ounce -- should I go back for the 1/8? The spinnerbait is only $2.49, but the gas could get expensive.

Try varying your retrieve until you find out what they like that day. Some days they like it fast and others they are lazy and want it slow.

Thanks -- no luck either way with it yet. Fast seems too fast, and slow seems to spend too much time on the bottom. I probably just haven't found the right combination yet. Either that or I haven't found the fish.

PCB...You don't have to goto Texas to get them...Walmart has them, even at the beach one.

Fast as it will go as long as it doesn't helicopter

But, they don't work, I will probably need to come over and remove them from your tackle box. They tend to put a bend in your rod and a fish smell in the cooler.

Dang -- I was looking forward to taking another week off. I'll try that fast-ripping thing and take my chances on the bend and the smell.
