St Marks Fri am

Post by Mr Flats »

Going down in the morning with my oldest to chase some fish. Hoping to wet a line as the tide begins to turn....

Hopefully we'll have good news to share tomorrow night

Update

Post by Mr Flats »

Got a late start as my "early riser" wasn't quick out of bed this am....

Put in at the Lighthouse about 9:30, netted some bait and asked my boy where he wanted to go ... East River oyster bars it is.

First line in my boy lands the biggest trout we've ever caught - not a monster mind you (about 22") but big for us. I'd post a picture but I think "Mr Scott" will do that for us next Thursday

Next couple of hours we kept moving around the bars and grass lines and have a couple of nice hits but nothing else of note in the boat. We did have an excellent seat to watch two dolphins work the bars - what a show! I know it kills the bite but it is still a lot of fun to watch with a 9 y/o

As always can't wait till next time.

I was there in the Kayak. I had no luck and watched some porpoise put on a show in the East River and the Lighthouse dock structure. Not one fish for me on that outgoing tide.
