Hi all Captain Goodrich here,
The fishing has been terrific on this forgotten coast, with catch’s of Trout ,Redfish,, Flounder, Kings, Spanish being the most popular . The Blue fish, Lady fish , Shark and Catfish are thick and quick so be prepared for the added action. The Tripletail and Tarpon are here if you can find your way threw the Sail Cats and Shark and we are still catching Cobia near the beach and on the Flats.
The bigger Trout have been on artificial with the rebel jointed 4 ½ inch blue and silver taking the lead. The Red fish are going hard after the gold spoon and the flounder are tearing up the red and white curly tail grubs. If you prefer live bait its everywhere and of course all the fish like live baits so don’t over look the L-Ys , Mullet or Pinfish . Live Shrimp is not going to happen in St Joe Area as the shrimp have moved out of the bay . Even the big white Shrimp taken out of the Bayou wont bring a fish to the boat here in the bay.
My boats Kings and Spanish have all been on silver and shinny. That goes for dusters, spoons ,or hard baits. With the most hits coming from the large weighted spoons.
This weeks cobia were taken on a gold spoon and red and white twister tail grubs. No Tarpon in the boat and only one hook up and it came by way of large Pogie off the Money Bayou Beach area between Indian Pass and Cape San Blas. Good Luck and have a safe trip
