Insane Fishing Day this Saturday

Post by mojokoko »

Today was most likely the 2nd craziest day on the water in my entire life.
I did not catch a damn thing, almost got arrested, and had to get a towed back in :( We got Towed from the St Marks Reef back to the Fort. Anyway. A little bit after we got out to the reed Johnny Law decided to show up and informed us that he will be back after he checks out this other boat. So he
comes by our boat and is real nice and all just wanting to see our licenses and drivers license since we had beer with us which was no problem. So for some reason my eyes keep getting Red out on the salt water must be some sort of reaction or something but the guy I can tell thinks im high as hell. Now I have smoked week before when I was real young and setup but that was over 5 years ago since I ever touched that stuff. So he sees the beer by me and asks how many I have had which I reply only 2. The first one I had was around 9 or 10 in the morning and the last one I had was like at 4 I believe. So he asks me to come on board and I was like crap im about to get arrested for being drunk even though im not. So I hop on his boat with twin Hondas :-D and I do all the standard eye test, some sort of crap with my hands. The funny part was is that hes like "LEt me help you back on your boat" and almost falls down himself. So he says something like "My friend know about these things and he says your borderline drunk" so I really didnt want to say no your a complete moron so I just said ok ok ok and let him go on his marry little way. Anyway I personally thing I was REAL close to being arrested which would have sucked because I was not drunk or anything at all but it would have been a pain to get all that BS straightend out. Anyway Ill fix the boat and back on the water ready to slay the fish.

I commend you for not replying with any multitude of "Yeah, well you're borderline <fill in the blank>!" comebacks!

On the other hand, I wonder how many drunk tourists he heard the same "story" from before he got to you. You have to admit, that part of the job has to be crappy.

I don't drink on the water. I'm always the designated driver. That first beer while you are cleaning the boat and putting away the tackle sure taste good. Sun and alcohol can get to you real quick.

Now don't get the wrong idea. To each his own just drink in moderation. I have seen enough drunks trying to take their boats out at the end of the day. The thought of them out there driving a boat is scary.

When I was 15 we got pulled over in my friends Moms van. You should have given him the same reply my friend gave that officer when he asked, "Yall boys been drinking beer, or smoking pot?"
"No sir officer, I haven't been smoking any beers" :-D
True story...it's a wonder we all didn't go to jail.
