ST Marks Sunday

Left fort about 5:45 and headed east. Right off the bat I had a monster blow up on topwater then after a pause a 5-6 foot black tip (?) shark nailed my skitterwalk! Good fight for a while till it threw it. Can't believe I got it back. Fun start.

Tried early for reds. We had several blow ups on top, but no hook ups. Caught 3 on spoons though

Probably fished too much of the fall for more reds, then headed out and tried for trout. Caught 10 or so with 5 nice keepers 17-20". July, and trout are hitting topwater a 11 in 2-3'. Had a mongo trout pop my topwater, but no hook up - I think the big ones just tease me.

We had some good topwater shark action in Cape San Blas last Wednesday night in Kayaks. They would bite the leaders off and we would find the topwater plugs floating on top of the water it was so glassy smooth. The blues were tearing them up too.
