Luck of the Irish

Post by Fisherman989 »

Went to Aucilla yesterday 14 July06. This report isn't about the catch we made....although we got 6 trout, 2 big reds (biggun was 25 in), and 1 three pound spanish.
The report is about a lost spinner and rod overboard. I foolishly laid this spinner with C/T down in the boat while it was in the water without putting it in a rodholder. We were west of the river when all of a sudden I heard some commotion going on....and my rod sailed out of the boat. Something big had taken it from me. We had GPS , so we immeditaly loaded the spot....but...we were in grass...and we couldn't find it. After looking for it awhile...we gave up....and went to another spot.
Four hours later...after going some 8 miles...and catchin a few keepers....we came back to the same area as the lost rod. After drifting awhile...Dixie Rebel says, "isn't that a green cork floating over there?" It was..and we went to it...pulled it in....line attached....and pulled in my spinner and rod. My day was made regardless. Talk about a miracle.....one happened yesterday at Aucilla. :D

That sure doesn't happen often - I'd say you were extremely fortunate!
