Myself and some friends (we live in Ga.) fished on 7/14. Basically we drifted the flats the entire day in view of the lighthouse. Caught some shorty trout and a few keepers. Will be going back soon and my question is should we have left the flats once that blazing sun came up and headed for deeper water? Also didnt catch or see a red. They in the creeks this time of year or...? Any guidance would be appreciated and good fishing to all.
Welcome, Walt. Fish shallow early. Go deeper when it warms up. There ain't no reds within 20 miles of the lighthouse. Birddog and Reel Slow have caught them all. (Seriously, fish the creeks for reds)

Hmmmmm a guy with a redfish tail for a pic tells me there aint no fish in the creeks............ I do believe I'll give the creeks a try.
Dont worry, I'm 99% catch and release so they'll still be there for you!
Thanks for the help guys. Wish I would have found this site before!

I'm a little dissappointed in ya, Birddog. Here we have a brand new forum member, and you're messin with him. I would never do that.

Ahhhh the BS is deeper in here than the water I was fishing. I feel right at home Tidedancer I noticed you are in Liliburn. I'm right up the rode from you in Auburn/Winder and work in Norcross so if you ever need somebody to help you launch your boat or hand you a cold drink from the cooler you just let me know
