I would back you up but I wouldn't know. :smt010

My Riptide has been  so far. The previous owner of my boat had an old, freshwater Motor Guide on the boat. It's a rusted mess. I can't speak to how well it was taken care of though.

That's a trolling motor, I thought it was a forward mounted power pole  ...When you die, don't come back as BD's trolling motor

For what it's worth, I put a fresh water trolling motor on the red cross boat a year ago. Probably by next year I'll be in the market for a white one. It's already deteriating.
What was I supposed to do today?

Guys...didn't see thru the threads what brand-name salt-water trolling motor you were speaking of, except "white" being the color. Anyone got a name &/or website that I can check them out at???

Thanks!

Minn Kota.

I bought my last one from Mike's Marine, in Panacea. They were in the same ball park with Bass Pro Shop.

Heh, I just got (back?) into saltwater fishing when I picked my current boat up a few months ago. I kenw I had a saltwater trolling motor, but I couldnt figure out why the previous owner picked a white model. D'oh!

It works fine in fresh water too.

And where do you find the good deals on new props for them. Oyster bars are **** on them.

I've got a Motorguide Digital 82lb. thrust 24volt. Its strong as an ox, and the batteries hold up good, but I feel for the money it cost, it should be smoother and quiter than it is. I'll probaly try a Minn Kota next time.
