Lake Hall - July 30

Post by Terrier »

Its been slow on Lake Hall recently - maybe the rain will get things going again. I fished this morning from 6:30 to about noon. I got two dinks and this 5.25 lb bass (22L X 15.5W):

I got it on a Norman DD22, pulling it off weeds in about 14' of water. It was a pretty good fight - it took a while to revive the bass but it finally swam off.

The Norman DD22 has been working better than anything else the last few weeks.

That sounds like good fun on that lunker!

Only thing I would've done differently is filet him! :D

The big ones don't taste so good to me but anything under 17 inches is prime. Small bass out of Lake Hall are pretty good - not as good as a speck but still pretty good, especially dipped in beer and rolled in corn meal and cooked in hot oil!

To me the "yearling" bass are prime eaters.

But those slab filets.... :lick:

The swimming area ramp is the only public access I'm aware of. You definitely have to watch out for kids running across the ramp there. A lot of people use the ramp as a place to on- and offload all their stuff, so you have to have a little patience there. In the mornings and evenings its fine.

A Florida state parks pass will work there.
