Econfina 08/05/06

Post by pops »

Eileen & I took my brother and grandson with us Sunday morning,
got to the ramp just at daybreak, headed west out of the river and started fishing in close. Caleb our grandson caught a 24" trout and was bragging to his uncle about the size, not too long after that Glenn hung his fish and when he got it in the boat he told Caleb "this is what they look like"
finished the day with 7 trout 5 sail cats.
good time had by all!!
:D

The hubby, kids and I went out the Econfina about noon Sunday and went east toward rock island, drifted some oyster bars and caught a wide variety; trout, redfish, cobia, cats, ladyfish and a short shark. A pelican hung around the boat entertaining the kids, until we fed him a ladyfish. Kids loved it!!
Ended the day with two keeper trout and a very happy 24" red that got away during a photo op! Me :smt010 My hubby :smt013 ...and then we got a good boat washing on the way in. Another fishing adventure!!
Go Gators!!

Hey Pops!! :smt006

We're planning on going Sunday as of right now. We usually head east, but who knows. We got a new GPS this week and need to check on some numbers. Are you going early?
