I haven't found a copper spoon around here in quite a while. I've had some days when nothing else produced but copperSharks R Us wrote: Although Copper spoons work well for me!

You can order Johnson spoons in copper at this site:
http://www.landbigfish.com/tacklestore/ ... m?PID=2467
In addition, they list the 10 most popular orders and copper is listed as second in 1/2 ounce after the gold 1/2 ounce so somebody is use'n em somewhere unless Birddog is order'n all of em to control the supply

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Try not to dodge the question this time Senatortin can wrote:And what spoon/color would that be?birddog wrote:Sir reel wrote:unless Birddog is order'n all of em to control the supply
I readily admit to buying all of a certain spoon when I find them. Hopefully that explains why they are so hard to come by.
Stay Thirsty My Friends
It would not be prudent at this time to single out any particular spoon color. In the society in which we fish in today, we should strive to make all spoon colors equal, to allow all spoons of color to catch fish. I forsee a day when all spoons of color ........
Just try'em all. Everybody that I know that fishes spoons alot has their own favorite style/color of spoon. I'm still not positive that it makes any difference. That being said I'm still not telling my favorite color.
I'll say it again, If you're not catching redfish on a spoon, you're fishing where they ain't.

GULP! free since 1970.
Try slowing it down so its near the bottom. Gold =
Other colors work too.
I know a lot of folks like captain mikes spoons but I haven't had a lot of luck with them. Neimires/Timberdoodles and others all will do about the same. Plastics on there or not - if you get it in front of a hungry redfish he will hit it.

And there's the best advice. Put your bait in front on a hungry redfish. A guide over at St. Joe Bay told me about being on the water with his kids. They drifted into a large school of redfish. The kids were eating gummy worms. The Guide took 1 of the gummy worms put it on a hook, cast it to a red and hooked up.Atticus wrote: - if you get it in front of a hungry redfish he will hit it.

What I mean is that the copper/gold debate doesn't happen in a redfish's brain. If you are in the right spot that redfish would hit the copper, gold, gold w/ chart., gold w/ plastic trailer...
It would prolly be harder to chuck a spoon out there he wouldn't hit. I have a white capt mike's that looks good but I haven't used it yet.
