I'm trying desperately avoid a trip to the dermatologist... this ain't poison ivy.
Our pastor has the same rash and cannot shake it either... he and I worked together to clear a ditchbank at the church site. Until we know differently, it is being referred to as "KDC-Kentucky Ditch Crud." His MD told him that it isn't poison ivy, and sent him directly to a dermatologist. I hope to use his diagnosis for my treatment.
May be related...may not... but I was scratching my self like crazy for three days last week. Had no idea what it was. The day after I stopped using bug spray to work outside (we've got them dam noseeums up here now), the itching stopped!!

I had a similar experience earlier this year while involved with clearing out some heavy weed and light brush clearing for a lady at our church. I made the mistake of wearing shorts instead of long pants. I had some sort of reaction to something around the calf of my legs just above the socks. It was not insect related. red bumps....very itchy!!. I put benydral(sp?) etc on them and it relieved the itching some. Never went to the doctor and it took longer than I would have expected for it to clear up. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have to see a doctor. Must have taken 6 weeks or more before it cleared up. My best guess is that it (mine) was a reaction to sumac or some related type of plant contact.
