Excuse my "Subject heading" this may not be quite that big an issue. Its still important though!!! FISHIN LINE, ok I'm primarily a flats fisherman. occasionally I may go out to holes 30'+, during which time I may be attaching a 65' steel litter (for Mac's). Question: How do ya feel bout Spiderwire ? Little to no stretch, long life. Or going with the lets say Monofillament ?? Pro-line I think its called made out of some kind of twisted fibers $$$ ??

I use Ande backcountry mono for both inshore (10-12#) and offshore (30-50#). I have used various braids, but I really don't like the stuff. Hard to tie knots and will cut the chit out of you if you grab it with a fish on.

There are several fiber or braided lines on the market. I use Power-Pro. Braided lines provide a better hook-set, but are somewhat difficult to tie. Mono lines tend to stretch. For Spanish other teethy fish, a steel leader 20#- 50# should be adequate for your needs.

Yea mj it was the Power-Pro I was speakin of earlier. My question is: Would a light wieght lets say 12lb Power-Pro be enough ? For trout - mac's - reds (using a 30-50lb leader)
I use 10# and 12# Ande mono with 25# triplefish flourocarbon leader.The only fish that break it are blues,mackeral and sharks in the 10% of the water I fish. Thank goodness. If I target any of those species I use wire leader. I never use wire leader.
Not derail or anything; but, does anybody know the difference between the Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon and the Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon Leader material...other than one costs twice as much as the other.
