A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
Anyone got a way to name spots they mark on their GPS? Like naming spots after folks you fished there with or naming them after football teams or something?
I have been naming all un-named oyster bars after real bars. Working so far.
I name most of mine for who might have been with me when I/we found it, or what might have been said at the time. Tom Keels, Wil Johnson and I were offshore trolling one day. We ran over a piece of bottom that jumped way up on the bottom machine. We were all watching the machine when we went over it, and all 3 said "DAMMIT" at about the same time. You got it. That's the name of the mark.
Do any newer GPS units have files (like a computer) to store waypoints of a certain area(like the keys) so that I don't have to scroll through 475 waypoints to find the one I want?
Pirate, I keep separate files for every area I fish. I fish freshwater, as well as salt. When I go to an area, I load that file in the GPS. I think I have about 35 files.
