St. Joe Bay 9/4/06

Post by birddog »

Chalk and I blizted the Bay this morning intending to mess up some reds. The morning started off with my leaving the GPS in the truck and having to turn around to go get it. Then we're on the water and ......

Red comes unglued

Chalk then turns another red a loose 10' from the boat and follows that up by letting a slippery 22" trout get away after a photo.

He follows all this up with an awesome shallow water bonus....

I still haven't had a bite, Chalk's bringing it to me pretty good.

We kept searching the shallows for reds without much luck for an hour or so, then decided to make a big move before the tide got too low. Ended up way back to the north and happened upon a school of pups that were willing to play. We boated 3 pups and couple of small trout before it got too skinny.

Headed back down south to fish the holes before we had to load up. Stumbled on a nice school of slot reds holding on some spotty bottom....

Put 3 more reds in the boat and 1- 19" trout and it was time to go. Hated to leave with the fish biting.

Had a great time, Chalk, as always. Can't wait til next time.
