Ecofina labor day

Post by rx fisher »

Usually, I'm with Don in the Greenbone, but we took my little boat for a change. I've never fished out of the Ecofina with mine, but Don was a good guide. We were on the water before daybreak and headed east to a redfish spot he had talked about for years. Beautiful day.

With in 10 minutes the first red to the boat.

10 minutes later another red both about 18 inches, we decide to break the 2nd rule of fishing.

1st rule, never leave fish biting to find other fish
2nd rule, never release legal fish thinking you will catch bigger fish.

We never saw another redfish. After trying for an hour and 1/2, we decide to try for trout on the flats, good idea. The bite was on
we caught 2 limits of trout in about and hour, very few shorts anything over 20 inches broke off, because we forget the net. except on large trout that had something big following and it about jumped into the boat.

Great day on the water with a good friend.
2 limits of reds released
2 limits of trout brought home.
