SHELL POINT

Post by FUTCHCAIRO »

HEY MULLETCHASER, IS THERE A GOOD RAMP YA CAN LAUNCH AT OVER AT SHELL POINT. THE ONLY PLACE I KNOW OF IS RIGHT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE ELEVATED HOUSES, ON THE LEFT AS YOU GO DOWN TO THE BEACH. I WOULD LIKE TO TRY SOME NEW PLACES SINCE THE FISHIN AT THE LIGHTHOUSE HAS NOT BEEN OUTSTANDING THIS YEAR. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Nice report  According to JT, ain't too many can outfish him so savor the moment:-D

Pa - I think the ramp you're talking about is the one at the old marina. I understand it is open for the time being but there's no longer a dock to tie up to. There's also a ramp at the Oyster Bay subdivision (take a right before you get into Shell Point) but parking is very limited. If I were going to launch in the area, I think I would go to Spring Creek. Nice ramp and fresh water but they do charge a fee of $5. Just be careful once you get close to the mouth of the creek. There's a reason they call it Oyster Bay. Fortunately, there is a marked channel that'll get you in and out of there.

there is a okay boat ramp at the old marina but it is hard to get turnaround with a trailer but the ramp is good but there is no dock to tye up too so go only if you have two people but fishing out of there is very seasonal
