WANTED: 12' jon or vhull aluminum boat

Need a 12' lightweight boat for duck hunting some tight places by myself so larger boat or fiberglass not an option. With or without trailer.

Not being a smart aleck, but I am a serious duck hunter. IMHO, you would be better off with a 12-13 fiberglass ghenoe or river hawk. Not a lot of weight difference, but a whole lot of difference in what you can push the boat through.

Thought long and hard about a Gheenoe but I hunt 3 people sometimes out of my current 12 vhull (but it leaks). Even a 15' would seem crowded then. I prefer something wider than the Gheenoe for 3 plus gear, etc.

Also we have to heft that sucker up the dikes at PCS Phosphate WMA so I like a light/small boat there.

My usual duck rig by myself is my canoe. Thought that since I must replace this leaker, I might use a small boat that is light enough when alone also.

I hunt PCS and I gets my 15 foot river hawk up and down the hill and I'm pretty near an old man

Don't want no canoe...been thrown out of too many canoes. Thats why I like the riverhawk...cross between a canoe and a power boat with a lot more stability than a canoe. Riverhawk makes a B60 which is a very wide boat that should carry 3 easily. I got a new 15 foot standard widtch this year with a flat floor and pedastal seats rather than bench seats. I could hunt 3 out of it, but doubt I will. Can't wait to try that sucker out!

Blindhog a 15' 52" wide gheeneo would be the way to go for 3 people. They make a duck model without the livewell. Lots of room and very stable. Mine would do 34mph with a stick steer 25hp. And thats with 2 people. I will say I dont recommend a godevil on one. I tried it, at slow speeds it would not turn sharp it would push sideways.(CRUNCH) I've tried all the combonations Godevil on a flatbottom, v-hull, and gheenoe. Outboard on the same. My best boats were the outboard on the Gheenoe and my Godevil on my 14' v-hull Lonestar(thick hull) I still have the v-hull and it has never hung up on a stump. We also used a Gheenoe at PCS only it was Occidental back then and I could shoot lead. Yes I'm older than most of you whippersnappers.

Hey there H-n-M... how we view being older does seem ta be how we relate to stuff in our past.... like how I remember using my JC Higgins with the corn sheller on the end of the barrel... thing was heavy enough to where it should'a had wheels on it!

Buddy of mine has a 13 riverhawk with a 5hp go devil and I've never heard him complain of it going sideways. I hunted out of it one morning and didn't notice that. The riverhawk does have a keel though.

Yep no keel on the Gheenoe and when your trying to navigate the seminole stump fields it felt like I was in a pinball machine. That's why I like my V-hull it slides right off them. And you got me beat it was only electrics at Occidental when I went. I can still remember the smell of that mud.

Hey Blindhog saw a boat for sale set up for Rhetts on another site with a winch on the front. That ought to make it easy to handle alone. I cant make myself duck hunt alone, the commrodery is what makes it fun. Them dekes still drawing birds for you?
