Aucilla 9-17

Post by Welby »

First one at the landing ( I don't know why I get a kick out of that but I do ) and the river was quite and nice under the stary sky. Bought a new boat got up at 3:40AM only to be outfished by a girl (getting to be a habit). Water was choppier than I expected but we had some type of action most of the day. Ended up with 5 Keeper trout, a bunch of shorts, all I could eat catfish, and other trash fish. Had a big time and the new boat performed great on it's first trip out. Caught most fish on jigs & grubs under CT. Depth varied from 3 to 6 feet. Loaded up about 2:30PM.
Can't wait till next time.

Good to hear from you Welby  It's a wise man who launches a brand new Sea Pro at the Aucilla and says:
I was skeered
:D That's the right attitude  Keep up the good work

Easy guys, She can hear you...... :o . First let me correct myself. It's not a "NEW" boat. It's new to me. It's a 2000 year model. The old boat will be for sale soon. I have a friend that wants first shot at it. Yes, I launched at the Aucilla ramp and I was very careful heading out and coming in, and maybe I got lucky as well........wait that didn't sound right. I better stop before I get in trouble........Have a nice day
