Yes, Chalk and I fished the tournament. It was a very busy day for me. I spent the better part of the day getting the net, getting Chalk something to drink, or whatever else he needed. That's what ya do when your partner is catching all the fish. I'll leave it to him to fill y'all in on the details.
Thanks for carrying me, partner.

I guess I will do the report too
I arrived at the ramp, as Birddog stated in his report, thinking I would win the race to the ramp, but I was about 5th inline
.
Got my stuff ready and Birddog launched me into the basin...Spent the next 30 minutes or so listening to fishing stories, listening to side bets and discussing the strategy of the day with Tincan. Ironically it was the same strategy that I told Jumptrout51 and Birddog...Birddog listened & Jumptrout51 didn't
We blast off after the torment director gave the okay and we were greeted by a stiff 10-15 knot northeast wind once we cleared the sand bar at the end of the channel...Coming off plane, Tincan says, "Birddog told be to bring a crash helmet."
Riding the bucking bay on the front of the boat was rather fun at times, but we managed to put a keeper trout in the boat within 30 minutes and a bonus pinfish on topwater
We fished the middle grounds for about an hour and then headed east in search of some more trout. Ended up catching a 18" trout and missing a few reds over there. Whilst this is going on I'm watching Birddog harass my plan like a seasoned birddog in the field
...bouncing between two spots I wanted to fish
We finally have four trout in the box and decide we need to find a redfish, we were fishing for points and needed the redfish bonus points. Settle into some points passed to me by a little birdie, saw five redfish scatter under the boat
...Fish through and then motor to one another spot close by....First drift I miss a red at the boat, hook up with a hawg...Get it to the boat and Tincan say, "It's too big." Sure enough it was 1/4" to long with the pinch, back into the drink it goes...miss a few more...Crank up, motor back and make the drift again...This time I hit pay dirt, at first Tincan, "Say's it's bigger than the last one." In the boat it goes...Tincan goes back to fishing...I lay the fish on the blue board and tell Tincan to look at this...1/8" shy of the 27" mark on the pinch
.
We pretty much stayed in the same area the rest of the morning...picking 5 or 6 more reds all between 25 & 28"...Tincan landed a nice 25" red as well.
Made a move to the low water trout hole to see if anything was home..Only thing there was a few promising blowups and some bluefish...Moved Northeast to fish some sand holes...This is where it turned into Marlin fishing
...I would tease the fish up with topwater and Tincan would fire a soft plastic in and seal the deal, did that several times...Tincan picked up our biggest trout doing this a 19".
We ended up finishing first in the trout division and big redfish...Congrats goes to Birddog and Reel Slow, as well as Eerman and Seagurl...It was good seeing everyone....Nice meeting ya Skeeter22...Tell DH I said, "Duh Huh."
Thanks to Tincan for tagging along, enjoyed it partner.
Great day on the pond, nothing broke (somethings scratched
) and some outstanding fellowship with some of the finest flats fisherman and women in North Florida...Can't wait til next time
No pictures on tournament day sorry
