Had hoped to run out for Grouper, but NOAA had it wrong again. Met a fella while waiting on daylight and he ask if I was wevans "when I said I was going for Grouper", I told him yes and he said "the world famous wevans, the only fella crazy enough ta go for Grouper in a Bass boat" :o I tried ta find him later to apologize for not asking his name
Anyhow, I fished at the mouth, around the last Oyster bar in 6 inches to 18 inches of water for most of the morning, fist fish was a nice Red that I discovered to late was foul hooked and lost at the boat :smt010 next was a 25" Trout  then a 22"er "released" then a 20" and a 14 1/2 :-D moved out to the center flats and picked up a 19", 17" and a 15 1/2"er  that was it for the day, the bigguns came on a top dog and the small on a CT with a glow white/red tail shrimp, water temp was 73 :smt004

How deep were you fishing in the middle flats?

I was North of you I think on Saturday. 3 foot and nothing on CT or grub/jighead.

Cold, cloudy, rainy.

I would run across the flat to about three foot and let the wind blow me back across "min. depth was around 6 inches" useing the motor as my anchor "tilt down to stop, raise to keep going" and would turn back around for another run when I got to around 3 or 4 foot deep on the other side :-D
