Who's taking the bait?

Post by DWilliams »

SATURDAY
NORTHEAST WIND 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS 1 TO 2 FEET.
PROTECTED WATERS SMOOTH. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.

Between 2-3' days. Mighty tempting? My experience is they are wrong more than right.

I guess I am......going offshore in a 24' Osprey. NOAA called for 3-4 yesterday and the flats were as smooth as a mill pond :o go figure.....

I'm up for it if they'll ease up on the forecast for Sunday. Looks like morning will be OK.

You must not have been fishing around Aucilla. It was off/on foggy, borderline whitecaps at times, and the ride bak in the river had a 2'er mixed in here and there.

Yesterday afternoon it was rough as a cob in the St Marks area...I went out to deeper water and the high water and fog ran me in..At 2 yesterday afternoon I made it back to the lighthouse with my gps..couldn't see it from 300 yards away. Went over towards Patty's island.. The fog lifted but the wind sure didn't.. Blew till nearly dark..

Actually I was at Aucilla......around 8:30 AM. There was alot of fog, but no wind at all. It was so flat between Aucilla and Econfina that we couldn't even get the boat to drift. You were there last Thursday right?

I was there last Thursday as well from about 9 til 2 and flat as flat can be. Thought I was going to have to put the trolling motor down just to get a drift. About the time I headed in it seemed to be making a change. Sundown, how did ya'll do Thursday early ?

I was there Thursday, however I did not get there until around 1:00pm. Pretty windy shortly after that, definately not slick.
